In developing a design for its new parts distribution center, American Honda wanted an attractive façade that would convey the company’s stability and concern for the environment. The solution: 220,000 sq. ft. of precast, flat, insulated wall panels and 2 firewalls.
The completed 830,000-sq.-ft. facility is a Zone 2 seismic structure with a life expectancy of more than 50 years. The exterior walls can withstand fire for at least four hours and are equally durable in harsh weather, having withstood record rainfalls and icy temperatures during construction.
